Expect more from the current GFA – Derrick Okraku

Head of Communications at Dreams FC, Derrick Okraku says that the current Ghana Football Association has done remarkably well after a year in office. According to the Okraku, things will go a notch better in the FA’s second and third years as they bid to revive the dwindling fortunes of Ghana football.

He says considering the state of affairs of the GFA before the new administration took over, they have done tremendously very well and Ghanaians should expect and demand more from them.

“The achievement of the current FA administration is excellent, and I believe the second and third year will be massive,” he told Kumasi-based Alpha Radio.

“Kurt Okraku administration is doing well and will keep to deliver in reviving Ghana football”

Ghanaians should expect more from the current FA before their four(4)year mandate ends because what they have achieved in the first year is excellent looking at the state of the FA before they assumed office”he added.

The GFA boss was the Executive Director of Dreams FC before taking GFA hot seat last season after winning a hotly contested elections.

I WILL BE SHOCKED IF OSEI PALMER WINS CASE AGAINST GFA – DERRICK OKRAKU 1024 524 Ghana Web

I WILL BE SHOCKED IF OSEI PALMER WINS CASE AGAINST GFA – DERRICK OKRAKU

Derrick Okraku, the special aide to the Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku, has said that he will be shocked if the much-awaited verdict from the Court for Arbitration of Sports (CAS) comes in favour of the appellant, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer.
Palmer had appealed to CAS about the 2019 FA presidential election, where he was disqualified by the Normalization Committee on integrity issues.
The verdict from the appeal is said to be released today, 4th August 2020, by the Arbitration body, and the younger brother of the GFA president has indicated in an interview with Emmanuel Owusu Boadi of Happy FM that he will be shocked to see the outcome of the verdict going in favour of Palmer, considering the legal documents raised by the parties involved, i.e. The GFA, the defendant and Palmer, the appellant.

“For me, it is a pretty straightforward one, and I will be shocked to see things go the other way around, not because I may be close to the FA, but from what I have read, I will be surprised to see the verdict come in favour of the appellant,” Derrick Okraku told Happy Sports.

He added that “It will be a learning point for me to know that the interpretation was applied differently from what I expected, and in the court, things happen. You could win, you could lose, you could have some of your reliefs granted, and others dismissed. So I’m willing to learn what sort of interpretation will be applied, but from what I have read and from the consultations done with senior colleagues, I think that the GFA made a very good case, and they stand a better chance of being favourite from the fact of the case”.

gfa eLECTIONS: Okraku Denies Alliance With Palmer

Derrick Okraku, Special Aide to Dreams FC Executive Director Kurt Okraku has vehemently denied reports of an alliance with Tema Youth President Wilfred Osei Kwaku for the presidential race of the Ghana Football Association.

In a Press Release signed by Derrick Okraku, the reports are palpably false and are carved out of frivolous imaginations and must be discarded.

Below is the full statement:

My attention has been drawn to a publication by a website named 442gh.com suggesting a merger between Kurt E S Okraku and Wilfred Osei Kweku (Parma) as presidential hopefuls for the Ghana Football Association. I wish to say that this palpable falsehood is deeply rooted in frivolous and factual inaccuracies and should be treated with disregard.

It is shocking that while Mr Kurt E S Okraku has not declared intentions to vie for the position, attempts would be made to align him with an individual who has publicly affirmed his stance for polls with several campaign trails already attached to his credit.

Key stakeholders and the general public who have faith in the capabilities of Kurt E S Okraku and yearned for his candidature would be duly informed with much more decorum and perspicuity on an ultimate decision which would be deemed to be in the best interest of Ghana football.

Thank you.

Derrick A. Okraku.

Special Aide,

For Kurt E. S. Okraku
