The FA Cup Committee (FACC) has received referee kits from “Footballmadeinghana.com“, a Ghanaian sports media outlet. The kits which were subsequently presented to the Referee’s Committee are to be used for the upcoming MTN FA Cup semi-final and final matches.
Speaking at the brief presentation ceremony at the GFA Secretariat on Wednesday, FACC Chairman J.Y. Appiah thanked “Footballmadeinghana.com” for their kind gesture and called on more private entities to sponsor the competition and other products of the GFA.
“The support we have received from our major sponsors MTN and other companies have gone a long way to improve activities of the committee” “I would like to urge more companies and individuals to take a cue from this and follow suit. Nothing is too small; we must all contribute to developing Ghana football”, Mr Appiah said.
According to the Editor of Footballmadeinghana.com , Mr Derrick Okraku, who made the presentation, the company intends to sponsor some categories at this year’s FA Cup Awards Night Ceremony.
The semi-final round of matches will be played this weekend, with reigning Champions Asante Kotoko facing Adana Stars at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Friday, July 10. And on Sunday, July 12, Accra Hearts of Oak will also take on Medeama at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast. Winners of the two ties will clash at the grand finale on August 30.
